Amy Thomas and Emily Rowe joined forces in 2009, creating Prospectus Tax & Accounting, CPA, LLC. Through this partnership, we meet the changing and unique needs of clients through a holistic approach to accounting and business management. In 2009, Prospectus created the Business Legacy Institute blog in order to further support clients through education and knowledge sharing.
Meet Our Team
Amy Thomas, CPA
Amy has worked in the field of public accounting since earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Otterbein College in the spring of 1992. Amy was granted the certificate of Certified Public Accountant in March 1995. Throughout the years, Amy has had the opportunity to work alongside a number of clients in varying industries to establish a wide tax and accounting knowledge base unique to small businesses, farms and estates.
Amy appreciates her client relationships that have been built upon trust, hard work, and experience. She partners with clients as she carries out her role as a Certified Public Accountant, adhering not only to accounting rules, but also navigating the distinct needs of each client. Amy appreciates taking time to understand the full picture in order to properly analyze challenges, set goals, and help clients reach the results that best fit their circumstances.
Amy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. She is also an active member of her church and supports many local charities. Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, Christopher, and their three children.
Emily is an advocate for small business. Since she was young, she studied successful local and national businesses and their owners. Throughout college she was a partner in a construction business in addition to working a full time job, and completed her Bachelors of Business Administration Degree in Accountancy from Western Michigan University in the spring of 2001. Graduating Cum Laude, Emily pressed forward with her commitment to small business, working alongside local Certified Public Accountancy firms. Her education both in the classroom and in real-life situations laid the ground work for Prospectus.
Her most valuable business relationships have been those created by working with other service providers to solve management problems for common clients. Emily perpetually educates herself of the services of local vendors in order to best serve her clients, and believes in Proverbs 11:14, “there is wisdom in a multitude of counselors.” She feels fortunate to work with a knowledgeable staff experienced in small business ownership.
Emily is married to Derek Rowe and is the mother of four children. In her community, Emily has initiated local activities to encourage local business, is an active member of her church and a supporter of many local charities.
“I am compelled to be steadfast in my commitment to entrepreneurship and the spirit of free enterprise.” — Emily Rowe
